Where is my TCM
Hi guys i really love yr interactions. I hve TCM problem bcos my range rover sport is losing power on a top speed the engine will cut off and engine system fault will come on the dash. I check code and was getting U0138-87 which is lost communication to all terrain control model. Where can i find TCM to clean it.
"U" codes are information codes and generally relate to a glitch in the communications. This can be related to the battery or a module further up the chain or even nothing at all.The TCM is not a "cleanable" item as it is an electronic item, only thing maybe connectors. Not sure where it resides on a RRS
The connector is very much cleanable. Make sure you use a soft bristle tooth brush and electrical connection cleaner. Once it’s cleaned up a smear of dielectric grease will keep it clean
The connectors aren the link ArmyRover provided. As for dielectric, I prefer contact enhancer on the pins as dielectric is an insulator and should not be used the pins directly but instead around the connector edges itself to help seal it when closed up. Just to clarify that point if you never used it. This is the contact stuff I use, its been around a long time and works well. VERY little is applied. I suggest heating it up a bit so its more like a liquid.
