wiper cowl
remove the wipers from the posts. Then the whole thing just snaps off. There are clips behind it that holds it in place. I watched a window guy just slide something flat behind it by sliding down the window at one end and just worked along to the other side.
Why? Is yours warped?? LOL... I'm sure it is or will be shortly. I told my local LR dealership that they should try making those out of a different type of plastic so it lasts more than about 3 years.
I just got my cowl loose. It was pulling away in the center slightly as well. What I have found is that there is only the one bolt holding it firmly down which is easy to get to. There is a plastic clip on each side and one in the center. My center one is still there but clearly broke. The driver's side is cracked which tells me it has little to no holding strength. You can't see the clips until it is loose. If you use a panel popper or something like, I would try and slide it from the top of the housing down. To get it completely off, you will have to take the hood off. DiscoMike told me to remember to use a magic marker to mark the hood layout from the brackets on the hood to make putting it back on easier when finished.
All these cowls eventually warp. I did a write up on how to check it and change it. Here is a link to the write up.
None of this operation required removing the hood, I am not sure what operation was being performed there.
One main reason why it is important to check / change is because the warp develops right above the cabin air intake, and can damage electronics and the blower motor when it leaks.
