2012 LR4 with Early AMK Compressor Failure
We have a 2012 LR4 that's stuck in Normal Height. I checked the codes and also took it to my local LR specialist and they confirmed that it will need to be replaced. The truck only has 40k miles on it, but I guess over the years things dry out and rot so it is what it is.
Our LR4 is an early VIN and falls in the TSB of early AMK compressors.
My question is, if I buy a replacement "new style" AMK compressor, will it fit under the factory cover that is equipped on my 2012? I don't want to leave this thing exposed to the elements, plus the noise dampening by the cover is welcomed.

Are you sure, as in have you tried to put a Hitachi cover on an AMK?
I have done both swaps, from the old hitachi to the amk, from amk to hitachi. I’ve swapped and modified both brackets to fit one another as well. You will run into a programming issue from amk to hitachi(vehicle will stay in extended off road no matter what) these swaps were done in an Lr3 and lr4. Brackets are not a direct swap though. Hose routing depending on the kit,may have to be updated.
