Default 2015 LR4 Pop Up gear shift lights flickering

My year 2015 LR4 HSE pop up gear shift lights flicker on/off and often will stay on but for the most part stays off. I only noticed this when my wife was driving and I was a passenger otherwise I would have never noticed this and for how long this has been going on.

Anyone have the same issues, any feed back.

Thanks,
Gerard

Morning, I came across your post and was wondering if you were able to find out what the issue was? This same thing has been happening recently in my 2016 LR4. Mechanic says those gear selectors give trouble, my father had to change one out of a disco a few years back.

Feed back would be great, thanks.

I just swapped mine out for a different issue, but I assume it is a loose wire/connector, or similar issue if you have spilled liquids in the area in the past. I am sure it is annoying but as long as it is raising/lowering smoothly and moving between the settings without hiccups you should be fine. Ours started to occasionally not srelease the lock when moving from R to D for example and it eventually locked up completely. Thankfully was at our house but it happened once during a 3 point turn and had to restart the car to get it to work. I would monitor it closely and consider changing it if you have these issues, otherwise it is a flatbed to the dealer.

Thanks for that. No issue yet with the selector raising/lowering so I think I'll leave it be for now. As I said it happened my father a few years ago, came out one morning and it wouldn't raise at all. Had to get it towed to the dealer, it's expensive over here to get it replaced especially in the dealers. Our local mechanic says he has replaced them in disco's, range rovers and jaguars, says they are known for giving trouble. Thanks again for getting back to me.
