Default Brake Pad Worn Light Won't Go Off

Just wondering if anyone might know why even though I replaced all the pads and both sensors myself, the brake pads worn light refuses to go off. Any and all help would be appreciated!

Sounds like there is a break in the wire somewhere (these work by loss of continuity in the wire). Either the electrical connector is not seated all the way, one or both wires are worn through, or the plastic "sensor" that is installed in the caliper has broken and severed the continuity between the wires.

Default Replaced both sensors, brake pads worn light still on.

I’ve got the same issue on my 2016 LR4. I just installed two new brake pad wear sensors, front and back, and the dash lights are still on. These cables are brand new, so I don’t think it’s an issue of there being a short. Is there a reset sequence by chance? Or do I need to reset using a scan tool? Thanks.

If it is like the ones on my 2015, it is a wear out sensor. Once it is worn down enough to turn on the light it has to be replaced to turn off the sensor light. It is a pretty simple replacement, you just unplug the old, plug in the new and hook it onto the new pad.

@Centuri89 , did you ever solve the light issue? I just noticed your original post was from 2020. @tknielsen , I replaced the sensors with brand new ones from AB. Unless the sensors are faulty, I was wondering if there is something else to check. As you mention, it's a pretty simple job to replace them. My brother suggested disconnecting the battery to see if that resets the light. I'll reply back with the results of that.

I had the same problem, replaced everything. It turned to be rodent damage. We had a rat problem for a short time, as we live in the country. It seems a rat or mouse had chewed on one of the wires. Fixed and working great. Hope this helps someone.
