Check and Double Check that your Caliper Carrier Bolts are tight
I recently changed out the hub assembly on the front right corner of our 2010 Range Rover Sport. Ordered the hub from FCP Euro for around $150. Overall the process was pretty straight forward. I did notice a rattle after assembly. I checked things best I could without removing wheel. Everything seemed fine. Our roads in San Diego are horrible, cracks and potholes everywhere. I thought that I might have bad sway bar bushings. Yesterday on the way to work, I was stopping for a stop sign on a residential street and had a sudden brake lock on the front right and a drop in the front right corner. I pulled over and saw that I had a flat tire. I checked but couldn't see any nails or screws in the tire. I called AAA to tow it to Discount Tire, I actually had an appointment that afternoon to get new tires. (17,000 miles on a set of Michelins with a 45,000 mileage warranty, third set getting 17,000 miles or less before they needed to be replaced). Turns out that the lower brake caliper carrier bolt had come loose and dropped out. The caliper had rotated up and broke the barrel of the wheel. I made the mistake of not using either new bolts or using locktite when mounting the caliper carrier. I found a replacement wheel, one of only two available in the Country at a local wrecking yard. I picked up a couple of new bolts and reassembled using locktite! I was lucky, learn from my mistake. Double and triple check that you have tightened up all bolts on your calipers and caliper carriers. Good luck. Phil

This same thing happened to me on my D2 over 4th of July weekend. The previous owner didn't tighten the bolts and the lower one fell out. Top one was backed way out too. Scary moment. My wheel just got a groove worn in it. Yours looks gnarly.
