Default From D2 to LR4

Hi all, Been a member here forever and mostly on the D2 board. Have had a 2001 D2 since 2003 and plan to keep it forever. My daughter is getting ready to head to college and she will be taking my Infinitiso i am in need of a DD. I have been looking at the 2016 LR4. So what's the deal with no low gear? I find that really odd that a LR doesn't have a low gear. I know how to verify if it has the HD package, but that did not seem to be a popular option and they aren't easy to find. So, for those of you without low gear, do you miss it? Should this be a requirement for me? I do off road, but 90% of my driving is pavement. When i am off road, it is usually very technical. Appreciate any thoughts and advice!Jamie

If you do 90% on road, and the off-road that you do is mild to moderate, you won't miss it. I can send you some links in AllTrails of examples of what I've done without low range. Would I prefer to have low range? Yes, but realistically I don't need it. Other's requirements may be different.

Thanks for the reply.

I missed a great LR4 in Florida with the HD pack and landmark edition. Currently looking at a 2015 Lux with 77k miles and everything except the HD package. And I mean everything... camera system, adaptive cruise control, 20" wheels...

Where do y'all go to look at land rover service history to see if maintenence was maintained?
