Default Driver Side Winshield Wiper Does Not Work - The Passenger Side Does

Two weeks ago I purchased my first Land Rover - she's a beauty 2015 Land Rover Trademark. During the test drive I failed to turn the wipers on. Not until I financed the vehicle and drove her off the lot did it begin to rain. I switched the wiper switch on and noticed the driver side wiper blade did not cycle back and forth, while the passenger side wiper worked as intended the entire time. I ran a diagnostic with GAP tool. No faults were found. What could be the problem? From what I read the motor is not the issue since the passenger side wiper is working. Can the problem be the wiper arm? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Wiper arm socket is stripped. New arm will fix it..

I thought the same. The new arm arrived today. I installed, flipped the switch and was working well for a couple wipes then the arm relapsed - so to speak - and stopped functioning. Could it be that the thing in which the arm slides into needs replacing? Like, that's what's causing the stripping of the arm socket, and failing to properly grip the arm?

The arm is aluminum and the spindle is steel. They have very fine splines that lock into each other.

possible you didn’t tighten it down all the way?

Was the replacement a used part? If so, maybe it was partly stripped already?

The replacement part is new. I possibly did not tighten it down all the way. I'm hoping this is the reason. Thanks for your feedback.

Inspect the inner walls of the wiper arm to ensure it still has the splines, if so it should work.

i use a small 3/8 impact to tighten the 13 mm nut down on those.

good luck!
