I’ve heard people say it’s better to fit 10W40 engine oil in place of 10W30 to the LR4.
What are your opinions please?
I have a 2016 LR4 with 45K miles, it does mostly short journeys now since I retired.

 

At the risk instigating a religious war on this topic…. I’d use whatever the manual states. The manufacturer “most likely” has a better idea of what suits the vehicle than Joe Random on the internet.

 

Not on your life. Personally, I would stick to what’s called for… OR even go lighter (same engine in a Jag calls for 0W20 (as does the new LR spec) Synthetic only.

That’s old school thinking that will kill this engine.

 

The rating in the manual was updated by LR, after printing.
I do like your response though! That freakin’ Joe Random guy needs to be ignored.
