Default Is heavy duty package worth it?

I am about to purchase either a new 2012 LR4 or a certified 2011 or 2012 LR4. At first I did not really care, but now I am thinking I might want the heavy duty package. They are really hard to find and I would like opinions on if you think it is really worth it? My rationale has been its only an extra $800 and when you are spending this kind of money why not just to have that assurance of a little better off road capabilities. The problem is they are hard to come by so its harder to work a good deal. Right now I can get a 2012 with heavy duty, HSE, climate comfort & HD radio for $53k which is a few hundred dollars above invoice. That seems to be a good deal, but I can also get a decent certified 2011 for about $7-8k less and not take the depreciation hit. Thanks in advance!

For $800 I would go with it. The extra wheel alone(matching Alloy?) is worth the cost in case one of your other four gets damaged.

And thank you for reminding me while I will NEVER buy a new Land Rover here in Canada. The model you described would easily go out the door for over $10k more up here....Robbery.

Go for it.....$800 is a drop in the bucket compared to buying and installing those items later on.

I'd lean to getting it, but my dealer tells me that tires burn out a lot faster with it so it's kept as an option (i.e., more suited to if you're doing like rock climbing off road all the time). That said, having a full spare is bad ***.
