Default HELP. Grinding from the rear when turning.

I have 2011 LR4 and noticed a grinding coming from the rear drivers side when turning right. I pulled the rotar and noticed a grove carved in the back. It appears to be rubbing the raised ring on the splash shield. It is only rubbing the bottom and only when turning. I assume the tire is tipping and causing contact. Is this a normal problem or should I be looking for other possible causes. The best pic i could find shows the splash shield from the back. The part that is rubbing is on the other side, I circled it in red.
Thanks in advance.

Not normal. Could be your wheel bearing has play. We’re any repairs done to that corner recently, maybe the shield got bent?
