What was the total cost for replacing the shifter?

I have a faulty LR4 showing the following faults from my GAP tool:Vehicle scanned on 01-05-2021 14:50
Using IIDTool BT V4.0 B2742

ABS-Brake Module
  • U0402-68 (AB) Invalid data received from transmission control module - Algorithm based failure - event information
    ( on 01-05-2021 14:27:35 at 75787 km )
IPC-Instrument Pack
  • U0128-00 (2E) Lost communication with parking brake control module
    ( on 01-05-2021 14:49:59 at 75787 km )
PBM-Parking Brake
  • U0402-00 (2B) Invalid data received from transmission control module
    ( on 01-05-2021 14:26:38 at 75787 km )
TCCM-Transfer Case
  • U0402-00 (2F) Invalid data received from transmission control module
    ( on 01-05-2021 14:26:44 at 75787 km )
TCM-Transmission 6spd
  • P0915-01 (AF) Gearshift position - circuit range/performance - General failure information - general electrical failure
    ( on 01-05-2021 14:26:44 at 75787 km )
My indy mechanic is pointing to a possible change of the TCM (transmission Control Module). I wanted to know if these errors could represent a problem in the shifter instead of the TCM. The shifter change is way cheaper than the mechatronics.
Happy to hear your comments.

I just wanted to know if you have the part number for the LR4 shifter? A picture of the shifter you replaced?

Thank you

Hi Jose, and anyone else

Did you solve Your problem? I also get similar codes. Especially U0402 (xx).
My car starts of fine, but when the engine gets warm, or after driving about 10min I get the “gearbox fault” in my screen and the car goes in to limp mode.
normally I just keep driving in limp mode, and the next time I use the car all is good again. But some times I can not stop the engine, and the Screen says The gearbox is not in park. By clearing the fault I manage to stop the car.

I have changed the brake switch, transmission oil and filter, connector sleeve on gearbox. Next will be to check and clean all modules and connectors I can reach without to much disassembling. But I would really like some hints from anybody that has had U0402 “gearbox faults” and solved them.

Hi. I did solved my problem but it was through a third party. My transmission was mechanically Ok, but the control system was not working properly. I had it removed from the transmission (a whole ordeal) and send it to Softelectronic 1 Ltd. in Bulgaria. They have developed the knowledge to repair this fault (At least the fault that I had). The issue is that the control system has problems and needs to be fixed and very few people know how to do it. Please contact Boris Georgiev, Sales Manager. email: admin@softelectronic.com. The LR4 is working fine. I have other issues, not direclty linked to this one, but the transmission seems ok, so far, and its been some years now. Hope this helps.
