So this is sad. Have a Land Rover LR4 2014 in great looking condition. Unfortunately im at a loss. Im at approximately 83K.

Symptoms I currently am experiencing are: loud start up idle with high revs and return to normal within 20-30 seconds.
Normal driving.
Check engine light is on.
I took to Land Rover dealership. They want approximately $7,000 dollars and I am not sure they are even addressing the problem.

They recommended PCV replacement and Oil leak repair, but I am having engine misfires. How is the oil leak repair going to address this? The oil level seems fine. I replaced the PCV myself because they wanted $500 dollars to do this when its a 5 minute thing. They wanted to charge two hours of labor at a rate of $205/hr.

I previously had the timing chain repair in 2019. I am attaching the previous RO and the new RO estimate. I don't understand why I would have to have all these parts replaced again in the vehicles lifetime.

Please any help to rectify the misfires upon start up and the check engine light would be greatly appreciated.

The R0 that is pink is from previous repair that was done and taken care of under extended warranty. The new one is just an estimate.

So cleared the check engine code after the replacing the valve and came back after three cycles. Have not pulled new codes yet with my scanner.

Not an expert by any means, however i will throw in a couple of things to maybe check out. There have been instances where guys have changed the PCV and either ripped it putting the cap back on or did not use an OEM PCV. i myself received a PCV with hole in it when i ordered a new one to change mine out. Not saying that is the issue - but for how quickly it can be checked it may be worth a look. I had the same codes, changed the PCV, a sensor on the intake and cleaned the intake in front of the supercharger of some build up. This cleared the codes in my case.

You had the same misfires codes?

Yes, The lean codes were consistent. The misfire codes came and went on me a couple of times. Once i changes the pcv, the sensor and cleaned everything up they never came back. I also switched over to the higher grade fuel for a few tanks as well. I am now back to the fuel i was running before, no issues about 12k later. Higher knowledge guys can get you further along on checking stuff out, such as fuel rail pressure, injector issues etc.... but i have never messed with that stuff other than disconnecting it to change out the crossover pipes. I assume you did a search on the forum for those code numbers? i have yet to run into a problem i not been able to find a solution to on this forum or another online forum. Owning a land rover there have been a few over the 3 years i have owned it. Gotta say that despite the challenges, i like this vehicle better than any of the ones i have owned.

I'd run (not walk) to find an independent dealer to take a second look. Most official LR dealers are useless for out-of-warranty vehicles. You're going to need a high-quality local independent mechanic to keep your vehicle in good shape. Dive into Yelp and these forums and see if you can find one and then have them reassess the problem. That would be my advice.
