Default Rain Sensing / Interittent Wipers

I know this may have been asked many times before, but what is the trick to the rain sensing wipers on the LR4?

I have the intermittent selector set to minimum and set to the 1st front wiper position so what I think will engage the rain sensing capability never seems to keep up with the rain accumulation on the windshield. That is especially the case at freeway speeds in light rain. Heavier rain I run the wipers at constant slow or high speed with the other positions.

I always find myself fiddling with the intermittent settings to manually fire off the wipers always trying to clean the windshield thinking the rain sensor should be. I have tried setting the intermittent selection to min, max or in the middle, but nothing seems to make a difference. I've always wondered if the rain sensor was in operative? My rig is a HSE Plus so I know it came with my vehicle.

My other car, a 2003 Cooper S, has rain sensing wipers and no intermittent selection. It works perfectly with any level of rain or sped of the vehicle.

I have read the manual over and over, cannot see anything I may be doing wrong.

Any thoughts?

I had a 2011 - but did not experience your min/max sensitivity issue. My rear wiper would shut off when it damn well pleased. Now we have a 2016 and everything works as expected.

I know you can do a system reset with your key fob (sorry forget the procedure - your dealer will know). Like many things today, a reboot can fix 90% of our issues.
