Default Rear manifold crossover - replace or not?

I'm in the midst of a massive overhaul (both valve covers, ALL hoses not already done in the past 12 months, LH injectors, plugs, coils, etc - RH injectors, etc done last spring). Since I've had so many hoses and pipes randomly fail over the years, I'm hoping to get a couple of years trouble free ( and perhaps solve the intermittent circuit pressure issues). The rear manifold crossover pipe was last replaced in warranty 6 years ago and has done well over 100K miles. Even though it's not leaking, I'd ordered a replacement just for maintenance whilst "in there". However I received the wrong pipe and looking at the one currently fitted it's not leaking.

I reckon this's really a dumb question but should I leave it alone or should I wait for the correct part?

wait for the correct part and replace it while in there. the rear heat manifold rarely fails such that it kills the engine like the front one but will probably leak at some point after 100k miles. I would definately do it.

I'm curious what you decided to do. Personally, I would probably also have waited for the correct part. Mine failed at around 150K miles.

Exchanged with the main dealer. Might as well do it, everything else's removed, would be a pity if it ended up failing in the next year or two...

Despite no leaks, I'm glad I did. Assurance a new on'es likely going to last the remainder of the life of the truck and the gaskets were pretty much done. Was a bit tedious to remove, 2 of the 6 screws were a challenge to remove due to their location but much easier to install.
