Default Replace all 4 tires??

I have a 2010 LR4. Standard 19inch OEM wheels. Got a nail in a tire that the shop says is too close to the shoulder and not repairable. And they claim that as its 4WD we have to replace all four tires. I have 5-6mm remaining on the others so quite a bit of life. I know the diff in some 4WD / AWD cars is sensitive to tire size / tread depth differences. But that sounds extreme
Thoughts?

If I have any tire problem in any of my cars (Jags, Triumphs, MINIs and Mercurys) trucks (Ford, Land Rovers)I go for the good tires all around factor and not worry about wife getting stuck. If any rotation was done with the spare, it would suffice for the interim. You are going to need tires soon anyway, start over with a good set and be happy things are good. Or like some SUV people, just put on one tire and hope for the best.

You should replace tires by 3/32. Your an oil change, maybe two, away from needed four new tires anyway. One new tire isn't worth the added wear to your t-case
