RPM Fluctuations
Hi all, I have a 2011 LR4 5.0 V8 with 150K miles.
I've noticed that at cruising speed, the RPMs fluctuate slightly on the tachometer. Is this something to be concerned about? Trying to get ahead of any issues. Doesn't seem to happen at idle.
Any thoughts? Thanks!

I had that issue with a 2005 LR3. Constant throttle pressure and a flat rate, RPM fluctuation at around 35mph. I tried everything, started a thread about it where you may find some ideas from other members. Ended up selling it. I believe it was the torque converter.
My 2011 with a 120K on the clock was doing the same thing. I did a full transmission fluid exchange and there was significant improvement. Every once in a while I'll still notice a very slight fluctuation on the highway, but it hasn't gotten any worse over the last 10,000 miles. I think I've seen some threads threads where the ultimate problem was identified to be some the torque converter going on and out of full lock. They seem to go for a quite a while in this state though so I'm not too concerned currently. If the trans fluid is old, try a refresh of that
Well, I just had my local independent do the transmission service / fluid change -- and there is definitely significant improvement. This has also improved the torque convertor judder / shudder that I had at 50-55 MPH and at lower speeds under load. Thank you very much for the suggestion!
