Serpentine belt broke, jammed in crank pulley
Hello, I have a 2012 lr4 v8 that threw its serpentine belt and the trash wrapped up in the crank pulley causing a major oil leak. What steps should I take and parts should I order to repair. I could not find a lot of info related to the fan belt and clutch assembly and removal. Any advice is appreciated. I have the truck in the garage partially torn down.
You will need to remove the pulley, to do that you need a generic pulley remover and you will need a Land Rover specific crank shaft bolt pulley holder to remove and tighten the pulley bolt.
parts: I would change the lower timing cover which comes with the crankshaft seal installed and the crankshaft bolt.
I never seen a “regular thread” crankshaft bolt on these motors, but I always check the markings on the bolt head anyways.

make sure you only turn the crank clockwise as turning counter clockwise can/will skip timing.
