Default SIDE STEPS RUNNING BOARD FROM JEEP - Any install tips ?

Hello again guys !

I am shopping around for heavy duty rugged mean looking running boards for my LR4 2014 but all I can find is overpriced plain chromed boards.

I see so many nice rock guards / running boards models for Jeep online at 1/4 the price of the plain LR ones. I was wondering if there is any adapter or bolt on hacks to install a Wrangler or other popular brand ( GM / Chevy / they all have nice ones available ) on my LR4 without to much welding. I can have brackets welded but I like doing my own rebuilds as much as I can with the tools I have and I dont have a 240v welder of my own. Only 120v.

Has anyone managed to fit a set of popular brand compatible boards to a Disco ? If so, I would love to read about your experience and see pictures of the result.

Thank you fellow Land Rovers !

I think you missed the part mentionning "Overpriced plain models".
I am loooking for tips in installing other brands sliders / boards.
-10x more choice.
-Many of them much more rugged

Britparts has 3 choices but they all look like standard running boards from my neighbors 1993 hyundai Santa Fe.

Thx Guy! You rock ! <- Rock sliders that is

In that case... I don't think I'd be welding it in place... for fear of bending something that shouldn't be bent. I'd affix it with bolts so that in a worst case scenario, the bolts should shear and not damage the vehicle??
