Default What's my best investment?

I am starting from scratch on my new-to-me LR4 and as of now it is stock (no mods and factory 19s). I am new to this game so I have learned as little bit reading articles, but I would like to hear from you guys.

Here is as list of things I was told I should get. I would like to get these in order of importance and practicality but I lack the experience too know that order with these items. I can't afford to do them all at once.

Please help.

Waffle board
Skid plates
Rick sliders
Winch
Door swing for the rear mounted spare
18' steel Tuffants with KO2S
GapTool
Something else I didn't mention?

Might help to give more details on what type of off-roading you are planning and your prior experience.

Get yourself the Ultragauge or something similar, you can monitor coolant temp and set alarms.

I prioritized your list.

1. GapTool
2. 18' steel Tuffants with KO2S
3. Recovery kit
4. Rock sliders
5. Waffle board
6. Skid plates
7. Winch
8. Door swing for the rear mounted spare

Even just the first 3 will get you going for quite a while
As you learn your truck's abilities and limitations, add items as required

Have fun!

I guess I associate waffle boards more with snow - they get awfully heavy in mud, could get buried in sand
Sand ladders may be better for sand, depends what you frequent

You could also consider the MaxTrax variety (or much cheaper knock-offs) to see how often you even use them

Using a 2nd truck, shovel, and tow strap will likely get you out of most places
But if you venture out alone often, you could add them to the other Recovery Gear (#3) so you can help yourself

#1 and #2 are definite firsts
Proper tires - and the ability to clear faults (EAS) - will probably help you avoid many stuck situations in the first place

If you are doing a swing away I would get 6 tires and wheels and stuff one up in your current spare location.
