Default 1999 Disco 1 headlight upgrade

I bought my first Land Rover two days ago! I was curious about the difficulties in converting headlights. I have a 1999 Land Rover Discovery SD V8i. How difficult would it be to convert into the 2004 model headlights?

Do yourself a favor and buy this 2003-2004 Discovery II Radiator Core Support instead of trying to cut and create brackets. It means you have to take out the radiator, ect, but to me it beats cutting out the holes and possibly wiring.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but using the newer core support would require a newer hood as well. Different latches between d1 and d2

congrats on the new ish rover!
I debated this myself on my 98 - and decided against it as the plastic lenses always cloud where as my 20yr old glass lenses are clear and bright - just put some good lights in em.
focus on mechanical things like de-carbonizing the engine and cleaning pcv valves-hoses, check the u-joints, change all the fluids etc etc... - my 2 cents

Couldn't agree more. Hardly an upgrade and making a 20 year old truck look like a 15 year old truck isn't fooling anyone

I consider it a serious downgrade. Plastic vs glass, and the 03-04 headlight bulbs themselves don't last nearly as long as the good old 9003/H4.
