I am soon to purchase a 2004 Discovery II SE 4.6 L. The mechanic that is selling it is going to change out the engine block with a 2002 Range Rover 4.6 L.
Is this possible?

 

I think 2002 may have been a crossover production year and you could get 4.6 or a 4.4. Main thing is reliability and no overheating or ticking from slipped cylinder sleeves, good oil pressure, etc. Hope it is at a great price.

 

02 R.R. is a 4.6 that will work well, my question is why and how many miles on the replacement engine.
How many miles on the 04 and what is he asking for it?
