Default Installing options after purchase

Hello all! This is my first post and first day registered on the forums

I am really interested in purchasing a Range Rover, but it is become all but impossible to find the perfect one. I've narrowed it down to two, but I love the way one looks more than the other. It is a 2016 Range Rover in Corris Grey with the Black Design Pack (black rims, black roof, black side sills). However, it is missing a few options that I'd love to have such as the adaptive cruise control and Driver's Assistance Pack.

My question is can those be installed after the car has been purchased or does it have to be ordered from the factory with those options?

Thanks!

Most can be dealer installed, check with your dealer.

Yep that's going to be a dealer install on something new. I'd get what you want from the get go.

That's the problem. Every dealer keeps saying it will be a long time until I would get one if I ordered it. On top of that, the dealer with the one that has the stealth pack on it says they can't even order another one like that.

I talked to the Land Rover service department in Columbus and the gentleman said that Adaptive Cruise and Driver's Assistance Pack had to be ordered from the factory and they couldn't install it. Boo.

Yeah it seems the newer these get harder it is to add options that require ecm to work and extra wiring, even my 05 lr3 gives me these problems, I have added air bags in rear with 3rd row seats and light is on dash, codes for extra airbags detected

As a dealer tech, I will say most dealers won't make changes like that to a vehicle just because of the cost of it. A cost that they will pass along to you. Not trying to count what is in your pockets, but the cost of the parts (sensors, brackets, wiring, programming and installation) will be at counter prices...not factory prices. It would be better to get it from the factory. Or have a dealer do a swap it another dealer for the vehicle you want.

Totally agree with you! Unfortunately, the salesman at the dealership and the manager both told me that they can't even order a Supercharged Range Rover with the Black Design Pack at this point and the only others I've found out there on the internet are configured exactly the same and the exact same price ($121,911) as the one I looked at. This makes me think that this particular configuration is only available with the options that are on it. I wouldn't know why, though, since it seems that the only real piece that could affect anything would be the black grille throwing off camera sensing, but that is a long shot.
