So I am in need of some rain gutter mounts to mount a roof rack on top of my disco and I was not happy with the load capacity with some of the brand names out there like the thule 953 which is rated at 165 Lb


i just found these online and was wondering if these could work on our Disco 2's?

If they clamp on was thinking I could mod them by drilling the hole for the bars up higher to clear the sun roof

Height of the feet will be your big issue

I would be more worried about the roof gutter load limit than the rack's load capacity, no good having a 500lb rack if the roof only holds 250,

 

I can guarantee that the roof/rain wells hold well over 250. Ive had two people, and the weight of the rack on top of mine close to a total of 500lbs with no problem.. this is all on a custom roof rack too.
