Default LED Light Voltage

I recently acquired some off road lights that have their voltage rating listed as 9-30. I have access to a DC-DC converter that could easily boost the voltage up to 24, my question is: Will this give me a brighter light?

probably not. Most LEDs work in much smaller voltages than 12v, You have two choices then to get a light to work at that voltage, run a few LEDs in series to bring the resistance up to 12v, or you can run an internal power supply that brings the voltage down to the levels the LEDs are happy at. With your lights working from 9 to 30v, that is what they are doing. They will compensate to make up for it.

That’s was my thought as well, some type of voltage regulator internal to the light.
