Risk of Broken Spring / Rear Spring Replacement for RTE
I have the 3" lift RTE springs on my D1. The rear get gouged by the X-spring dislocation cones so there is no way the powder coating will stay on. Fortunately, I live in an arid western state, and I do clean the rust off them and spray paint them every year, but since they've been exposed for more than 10 years now, I'm concerned about them breaking. My D1 is about 5300 pounds unloaded, but I can add another 700 pounds of people and gear. What is a good rear spring for this? In the front, I have the RTE RR4-3P progressive springs. Those are working great and the powder coating does not get damaged, so I'm only concerned about the rear.
