Very interesting comparison with (for Land Rover owners) an unsurprising result.

 

Big toyota fan at heart and always loved owning my 3rd gen 4runner which I currently love and looking to get another yota alongside my 3g 4runner and my disco. I actually was waiting till the new landcruiser only for it to be a big dissappointment imo. I went and looked at the new trailhunter 4runner which is much better imo and is so much better looking and still suited to wear the 4runner nameplate unlike the new lc. Loved how the disco compared to the lc in that challenge though.

I got fancy; it's the word "comparison".

 

My best buddy has a new LC and all-in-all I like it but it has a few drawbacks:

1) Its mileage is terrible is comparison to my Td6.
2) That step in the back where battery is - aggravating.
3) No fold down lower tailgate.
4) Seating for 5 only.
5) The seats don't go flat.
6) Less ground clearance than the D5.
7) The user interface is bewildering.

 

Also:
LC has no storage areas because of the hybrid battery under the floor - not even a gap under the second row seats

Not only does the second row not fold flat but it doesn’t even increase cargo area when it folds -try it and see.

Very small door pockets /cup holders
Small glove box and console - or no console if you have the cooler option.

Tough tire size for all terrain choices

How long is a 4 cylinder going to last in such a heavy vehicle

Too pricey compared to the Lexus GX which removes that hybrid battery and adds a V6
