Aj126 3.0 Supercharged vs Igenium Turbo inline6?
Considering a Disco5 for light off-roading and family duties. There will also be some towing of a Scamp 16 camping trailer.
I’m curious how people feel about both cars if they’re in 50k mile range and well serviced. The AJ126 had its Y pipe and water pump replaced.
If they’re both serviced at 5k mile oil intervals with full synthetic, which one do you think will make it to 200k the most trouble free? I feel like the complicated mild hybrid system might have issues we don’t even know about yet.

You may want to check on the Defender forum about Ingenium related issues. The SCV6 is solid but you are well versed in the weak points of the cooling system (crossover pipes) and timing chains (shorter oil change intervals). Already off on the right foot if its had those 5k oil changes and crossover pipes replaced, especially if its the new OEM aluminum one. You may want to dive into the LR4 forum as they were fitted with the SCV6 for several years. Outside of the two weak points identified I’m not aware of any regular issues
