Ordered June 21 initially as a ‘21 that quickly became a ‘22 model year. Dealer build allocation provided 10/8 but no build date assigned. Changed over to ‘23 spec on 11/15. Finally assigned build date of 1/21/22 and ultimately delivered to port 3/8. Kept in port a while but finally got to dealer 3/25.
I’m in the UK. Ordered a Discovery 5 commercial variant June 2021. Only update was to 23MY and they discontinued the HSE variant which only became available in r-dynamic HSE. Upgraded to that in December here we are today still no update or build slot from JLR, the dealers in the UK have no idea with very few vehicles coming through at all.
Really frustrating and JLR on twitter are useless. Sadly I’d cancel but there is no nicer commercial vehicle available in the UK in my opinion.
Are you thinking about the F Type as well as the Disco? I have both - totally different cars of course. Yes - disco v comfortable for a long distance cruise. But f type is just such an incredible driving experience. And I much prefer the lower, firmer suspension of the f type for cornering
Yes, I was thinking about having both. The disco should be here any moment. Still waiting for the headlights at the factory. I love the looks and the sound of the 550hp v8 f-type, but as I said...completely different experience. Maybe I'm just not used to sports cars. Which version of the f type you've got?
Check out the JaguarForums site for lots of info and enthusiasts. The ride is firm for sure, but it is much sharper and more connected. Disco V is surprisingly good (air suspension helps) but you still feel the high center of gravity and roll in the corners. F type is very precise, corners like it's on rails. Tyres make a difference - the P Zeros it comes with aren't good and there are much better options. Later models have AWD too
Yes - no rearward visibility - but that's just sports cars
I'd suggest taking out a 2017 or later - even if it means stepping down to the V6 supercharged. Still excellent performance in the F Type (but not the same drama as the V8...)

Anyway - back to Land Rovers!
Why would you suggest 2017 or later? The one I tested was 2014 27k km maxed out 550hp v8 for 55k which was like 160k as new. I'd not consider 2014 if it were not that good. From what I saw, the overall experience is not that different from 2022, but had little time exploring the new one.
Anyway, I received my disco last week and it's such a sweet car. Pretty quick for its size. Thirsty though However, I'm really disappointed by the instrument/cluster which is semi analog. It's not that bad, but I'd expect the full experience for that price. Plus there was optional wireless charging that was for free, but it's missing. I checked and my salesman forgot to add it to the build as we were taking out one option and I overlooked it. Not sure whether they'll do something about it.
2016/17 onwards are AWD. The 2014 is RWD. So it's v tough to put down the power. Also infotainment, seats etc got improved versions around that period too
But the 2014 is still an excellent car and some people prefer the 'pure' RWD experience
