It is cheaper to produce red turn signals, as they can use the same bulbs. LEDs aren't immune, either. The L663 for example, has red LEDs regardless if you have the clear or red taillights. Red LEDs are cheaper than white or multi-color. If you're an OEM, and a large percentage of cars are going to be NAS spec, it's a no-brainer to save some money by making identical lights with cheaper bulbs/LEDs for NA, which is usually an automaker's largest market. Saving a few cents per car adds up when you're selling hundreds of thousands throughout a product cycle.
sounds logical. But apparently , Toyota and other "lesser" manufacturers, which have far more sales volume than LR, don't consider it too expensive

Indeed that is true. But Toyota Honda, GM etc. all have significantly more money to spend on little things like that. JLR might be the UK's largest automaker, but compared to mainstream, and even the German luxury brands, JLR is tiny. For example, BMW Group sold almost 2.5 million cars in 2024. Audi sold 1.6 million. JLR sold 431k vehicles. They'd rather spend money elsewhere than on rear turn signals.

True. I guess that's why they can't be bothered with fixing windshield leaks, too.

All cars need some TLC. Anyways back on topic anyone find the wire that activates the DI signal separately?

Well... On the US spec dynamic taillights, the body lamp only has running and brake. The tailgate lamp only has running. DI on the body and tailgate lamp is electronically disabled somehow. Either the LEDs are missing or there's a solder jumper or programming on the circuit board in the housing. The DI wire is physically missing at the body lamp, but the tailgate itself has all the wiring present. It's unclear yet if the DI wire is present from the BCM to the tailgate. I've got a bit more poking around to do, but the lamps are a dead-end for changing their behavior without modification. If that's even possible.
