Auto start/stop defeat
I was excited to hear of this idea but suspect it may mess with backup camera or other systems. See note below. I’ve sent email to autostopeliminator.com to see if they can test their product on a D5.
On the surface, this appears to be a clever solution, but as it turns out, it’s one of the worst solutions. Modern trucks have many advanced towing features that work well while towing. Transmission shift pressures will increase. Fuel-based remaining distance estimates are adjusted for the reduced fuel mileage. Blind spot systems will expand their range to account for the length of the trailer. Rear ultrasonic object detection and cross traffic alert disables so as not to falsely alarm due to the presence of the trailer. Rear-view camera overlays used to visualize the vehicle path are disabled. Advanced trailer anti-sway controls are enabled, which may brake wheels independently to reduce trailer sway.

I wouldn’t use such a defeat device. If the car thinks a trailer is attached it’s going to behave differently.
While concerns on starter or battery wear may be valid, disabling it by pushing the button when you start up and put on your seatbelt eventually becomes second nature. Even if you occasionally (or always) forget and you push the button the first time the engine cuts out it’s just one extra start cycle and hardly likely to make any difference long term just as it wouldn’t if someone drove their car once per day or two.

I contacted travis@triauto.com to ask them to try the autostopeliminater on my D5.
He replied:
I'd be happy to develop a device, but Landrovers are in short supply in Fairmont, WV.
Maybe someone on the forum is local? If they are, have them contact me.
Travis Lambert
TRL Automotive
maybe someone could work with him?
I told him that if he had one for the D5 I’d post it on the forum and that some of us would buy one.

On the Jag Forum many people have disconnected the start stop manually. I would expect that the electronics of the system are the same. You just have to find the right module
Here are instructions for the F Type. If you can locate that module, just do the same! A simple unplug.
(And tell us all where to find it??)
