I went with the extended Thule aero blades. They are wide enough to fit both a cargo and ski box at the same time. The gap between the roof and box is wider than other solutions, but oh well. I previously used the Thule bars and was surprised with the noise reduction.

Stevens Pass in the Seattle area. Not open yet, so we thought to hike there before it turns into a zoo every weekend until April. They open this week.

@DeusMexMachina How do you like the side protectors on your doors? I don't see any on the D5s around town here. I've ordered a pair from powerfuluk, hope to put them on soon.

I back up into my garage so I need them when I get too close to the wall. The only critical point for the install is the gap with the door edges. If yours don't come with install directions you can find them here: LAND ROVER ACCESSORY FITTING INSTRUCTIONS.

Stevens looks amazing. Always wanted to get down there & do Leavensworth. With the border, unsure when I'll get to my secret little favourite just out of Bellngham... Whistler opened up here with a reservation system to minimize crowds. Sadly I'll stick to snow shoeing to avoid silliness.

Slightly different topic: anyone had any luck with eBay knock off side rails? I can't believe the after factory price. I suspect we'll be doing more driven vacations for the next bit, and have a ton of existing Thule roof kit. Yes, I'll be one of those guys with bars wider than the car. Thanks in advance.

@dinkeldorf , Baker was my regular spot when I lived in Bellingham and we still split our time between it and Stevens. We're interested to see how the Veil ownership turns out at Stevens. I won't complain too much about our ski areas in the PNW, at least prices are still reasonable compared to CO/CA.

As for the wider bars, seems reasonable to me. More room for accessories!
