Totally hear you on PNW skiing and bar width. I know there are more serious issues in the world but heck I miss Baker and the Bellingham Trader Joes!

Enjoy your trails, of whatever form.

Adamlee, what hitch is that you have on there? I recently got a 19 SE and am looking to either get the OEM or a 3rd party.

It’s the OEM hitch.

Hi. I've read a number of threads on the forum about roof carrier cross bars for the D5 and could use some simple advice. It seems like a few of the things people have liked so far are not available any longer. I have a 2018 D5 and added the roof rails. I have no issue with the OEM cross bars other than I would prefer black, and they only come in silver. As far as I know, I would be able to attach 3rd party carriers to them (ski, bike attachments) but please tell me if that's not true.

I like the Thule Aeroblades because they're a clean look, seem to cut wind noise, and come in black. But I just can't find them anywhere to fit. Rhino has a system that would work, but the bars extend beyond the feet and I'd prefer not (extra wind noise?). I've seen nothing else that looks like an option.

Any advice out there? Am I missing something on finding the right Thule stuff? Their site says they have no fitment for the D5. I don't want to complicate this - if the right answer is to just by the OEM cross-bars, it's OK to tell me to do that and stop making it difficult . Thanks!

Several months ago I got a pair of Thule AeroBlades from etrailer. It came with the wrong kit which I returned but kept the black bars - L & XL.
I got the kit (#4080, I recall) from Thule online. I believe the China Virus caused people to buy out anything recreational.

You’ll have to shop around, try LLBean, etrailer, large outdoor stores, REI.
Good luck.

So I tucked tail and took my *** home and bought the OEM knockoff bars (from Amazon, so I could return them) for $140. They arrive tonight. I'll report back on quality and sturdiness.

I also bought the OEM knockoff splash guards for like $35 (as opposed to $200 for the set of 4), and the Weathertech generic cut-to-fit rubber mats ($50) for the occasional wet weather use. I thought about getting the Weathertech lasercut fitted liners ($230)---but seemed like a shame to spend that kind of money to just hang the mats up in the garage for the 340 days a year I won't use them.
How did the bars work out, would you recommend them?

Any chance you know the brand? I've taken a peek at eBay for bars, but so many options :S.

It was too long ago and I can't find it in my history. However, what seemed to be the case is that they're all mostly made by the same manufacturer in China.
