Differences in trim levels
Browsing the LR site it's not exactly clear cut what options you get with one vs the other mechanically. I'm trying to buy a 2017 HSE CPO that may or may not be on the lot so they're going to get with me tomorrow to see if the sale went through. I also see a 2018 SE td6. Does the 2018 SE have adjustable air suspension? Being the td6 would it have the low end or is it not even needed now days? I'll admit that back in the day we use to use it on the ranch but with vehicles having double the power they use to I can't remember the last time I put my truck in low. Just wondering why I should save the $6k or so and go with the SE.
I have 2017 HSE td6, the low end and air suspension comes with the 7 seat package. If it is 5 seat, I think it needs to have capability package.
Please check out oil dilution issue as I am one of the affected owner of td6, just be prepared instead of surprised later on.

2018 SE can be equipped with or without the air suspension - you need the build sheet. Likewise with the capability package and third row seating. I specifically ordered mine with air, capability and without the 3rd row. Please elaborate more on the oil dilution issues on the Td6.

There's a lot of discussions going on among td6 other diesel 4 cylinder engines.
if you google JLRP00100, you can find a lot of threads going on this topic. Owners experiencing short oil changer interval ranging from 2000 - 6000 miles.
In my case, computer would start from 16000 miles, then drop rapidly and then end around 3500 miles.
Ahh that's called "making oil" where I'm from. Generally has to do with the break-in of an engine. Most people don't do it but when you first get a vehicle you should drive the hell out of it. The ZF transmission monitors how you drive and tunes itself for better performance then you have the engine.
Are you getting the oil changed at the LR dealership? What do they have to say about the intervals? Are they still charging for the changes or are they acknowledging there's an issue? Has anyone actually done a used oil analysis (it's only like $26) to see what's going on? Also like above I mentioned the GDE Tune. If you find a good tune in general they do DEF deletes and adjust how often the engine regens. Generally it has to do with unhurt fuel making it's way around the piston into the oil pan. I don't know the case here but in the case of my jeep they adjusted the timing of the engine, the power, and regen rates and it never had those issues.
