Has anyone figured out how to disable the TPMS system?

Sorry, don't know how. Tell us why and maybe we can help.

Default Not a TPMS fan!

Not a needed capability on my vehicles. I check my tire pressure. They notoriously fail in most vehicles and don't perform well in temperature extremes.

I suspect it is the same system as my LR3 had. No problem with it in 11 years. No false alarms. I check my pressures on the first of the month every month. As we go into winter I usually need to add air. But in spring and summer I can usually release a little bit.

On most models you can use an Autologic system to remove the feature so the vehicle no longer looks for it

2 days ago I was driving the wife’s car, all 4 tyres with less than 2,500 miles on them at 39psi. Only heard a quiet pop as the passenger side rear punctured and deflated to 8psi in seconds. If the radio had been louder I wouldn’t have heard it at all, in fact even though I just about heard it I didn’t realize what it was as the car drove perfectly. The dash screen lit up told me the passenger side rear was toast. Massive hole in it.
I also check tyre pressures manually but it’s still a system worth having as you can’t otherwise check them while the car is moving. Given it doesn’t cause a problem being there I don’t see why you’d remove it.

"Notoriously fail in most vehicles" is hyperbole at best. They perform well in temperature extremes - it is the air that changes with the temperature.

But to answer your question, I am not aware of something to override. I know for our Jeeps we can get a Tazer or SnapCal that will allow a lower pressure before it alarms for airing down on the trails. Personally, I just let it be while on the trails and when I air back up, the notice goes away.

The answer to the question is yes - you can disable them using the LR SDD tool (the dealer programming capability). But dealers won't / aren't allowed to do it. So you're on your own to do it - the kit is expensive and if you get it wrong it can damage the ECU.

But in practice as others have said they are very reliable. They read low pressure in cold weather as you really do have low pressure when the weather turns cold and have to top it up

I would live with it as it could help you one day!
