Disco 5 Recall #23v-393 Unilatch Keyless Entry
I've received a notice of this NHTSA recall impacting Disco 5 (2017 - 2020).
It has to do with the rear passenger door opening while driving. The notice states that to fix this the Unilatch Keyless Vehicle entry function need to be disabled!
Wondering if anyone already had this done and what was the impact? did you lose any functionality?
1- Can you still open the door while key still in your pocket?
2- Can you still lock/unlock the doors using the key fob?
3- Can you still lock/unlock doors using the mobile app?
Thanks for any feedback.

I found those features still work, but instead of it unlocking and opening when you pull the first time you now have to pull the handle twice. Once unlocks it, the second time opens the door.
I have not tried the mobile app.

That's the way I interpretted the recall language. Although two pulls on the handle is not a big deal, and that's how my BMW operates, I am hesitant to allow Land Rover to make any change at all to anything on my D5. I don't expect it to happen but it wouldn't surprise me to have them change the door unlocking procedure and at the same time change my infotainment system or cruise control or wipers, or some other totally unrelated item. I will wait since I have no issue with the way my door locks are now working.
Not all vehicles will have this done... They request that you bring your vehicle in to check for water ingress and if there are signs of that then they will handle the recall, otherwise they just send you on your way. The inspection takes maybe 10 minutes. I took mine in for the recall and did not need the procedure done.
Thank you all for sharing your experiences.
Since I'm not experiencing this issue, based on the provided feedback and the concern that the dealership might actually ruin something. I will hold back for now on taking may car to the dealership.

My wife experienced the driver rear passenger door opening with my son in the seat. I don't understand how a software update fixes a completely failed latch; ours wouldn't latch at all once it failed. I replaced that latch/lock assembly (it's a combined part) on my own dime, then systematically the passenger rear and front passenger locks failed. Again I fixed those. Now the driver front lock failed as of last week. I'm out 1400 in just parts. I'd be really pissed if I had to pay someone for the labor.
I wouldn't wait around for things to fail. If this magical software fix somehow fixes mechanical failures I wouldn't wait for your door to pop open unexpectedly while driving. The latches fail without warning and people could be injured. That's a level 9 severity on an FMEA all day long.
