What options or features would the D5 have to have to have the cameras in the windshield? I wonder if my 2017 even has them.

It can identify speed signs. Lane departure warnings, collision sensor maybe.

Yes, my old 2017 HSE Luxury with the Drive pack and Vision Assist pack had cameras behind the windshield.

It also has sensors for automatic headlights and wipers.

I hadn’t thought of all those functions. I wonder if my emergency braking works. No way to test it.

Any chance you can post a quick up-close picture of the glass? Long time rover owner but first D5 I have ever had. Noticed water on the carpets and I guess it went to the back of the truck because the rear carpets were damp as well. Throw a quick picture up when you a chance! Thanks!

Default No coverage

I was informed that a manufacturers defect is not a damaged windshield and therefore is not covered. And I’ve asked about removing and reinstalling to more than one windshield repair business and they never bothered answering so I think if it were to be covered by insurance, they would’ve gladly contacted me and say so. (And in our state, they’re allowed to name their price for insurance coverage.)

It's very expensive if the windshield needs to be replaced. There is a decent risk that the windshield could be damaged while being removed. A remove and reinstall may not fix the leak (although it did in my case). It seems it can take time for a service place to get an OEM windshield. They also don't want to have to deal with the LR electronics in the windshield. All of which likely factoring into their non-responses.
