Cool and thanks for the picture. I’m having the same common problem as I see posted a lot. “Bad quality DEF detected”. No start in 250(now160) miles. Seems like that message may not be accurate. Sounds like I now drive it and wait for a “dosing”error and after that, drive on interstate for 30 minutes or so. Any other suggestions?
Yep that's the exact series of messages I received. Took mine a couple drive cycles to clear all errors, first was on highway for about 20 miles, the second in town for just a few. I've really no idea what the "formula" for the drive cycle is. I did do before and after Nox sensor readings with my phone app and did see significant improvement in post doser nox ppm
Sorry for the delay. In summary, they charged out of warranty me to drain the DEF and the same issue reoccurred 200 km later. BUDDS Land Rover did not accept that they misdiagnosed the problem and never gave me my money back. I contacted Land Rover North America and found no support either - weird. The final solution came by replacing the NOX sensor. I have driven the car for a month now with no issues.
The takeaway is that I am opting out from Land Rover in the next car purchase. I few so bad since I love the brand and driving experience. Not sure what I will buy though.
Where is the NOX sensor, and do you have a part number?
So, I have cleaned the DEF injector, and as everyone said , the “DEF bad quality” message turned into a “dosing malfunction”. I have driven 60 miles and it will not clear. I have 60 miles left to no start and my shop is 52 miles away. Any other suggestions?

I'd Take your for another drive in town. Stop and go if your haven't already. that's when mine finally cleared. I was able to see a significant reduction in NOx at idle with the "Car Scanner" app on my phone. Pretty close to 0ppm at idle and much less ppm pre catalyst readings during normal driving.
Good afternoon! I was wondering if this issue was resolved for the majority here. I'm having the same prob and I'm fearing it's a software issue.
Hello,
Yes, my issue resolved exactly as everyone on the forum described. If you’re having the same issue described in this thread, then the DEF fluid is not bad. The injector is clogged. It’s easy to detach the injector and clean it. You will need an onboard diagnostic machine(OBD, II). Once the injector is cleaned, you can clear that message with the OBD. Then, messages will switch to several NOX sensor error messages. However, with enough driving, you will eventually be able to clear those messages with your OBD. A local foreign automobile mechanic told me, which was exactly the case, that it takes 20 miles of driving at over 60 mph. You can easily find videos on YouTube for locating and removing the DEF injector.

Thank you for that!! The injector was the first thing I looked at and cleaned the first time I tried to fix all this. Here's what it looked like. It's a whole lot prettier now.
Something curious though.... While I had the injector out I tried to test it but starting the engine to check spray pattern and all but I never saw a spray. I sorta think that it's not going to activate until the nox sensor calls for def but I just don't know that for sure.
About clearing the codes after driving 20miles. Were those the permeant codes or intermittent codes?
Hello all, I’m new to the forum, but not Rovers. I’m going to resurrect this thread, as I’ve got a 2018 Discovery TD6 (60,000 mile on the clock) with the “Incorrect DEF” notification, which came on during a drive from Vegas home to L.A. Needless to say, I now have 88 miles until no start. After reading through all the posts, I pulled the DEF injector and found it to be spotless, as was the inlet on the exhaust. Now I’m stumped. Any advice?
