Just to note - battery is in the trunk. So if you can't open the hood to jump it, you can do so from the trunk instead.

Does anyone have the workshop manual instructions for replacing the hood release cable?

Does anyone have details of the TSB. Mine did it last winter. I told dealer about the cold weather issues at annual service (in the summer) and of course can't replicate so they lubed and adjusted it. But back to the winter and it's getting stuck again...

Tsb below. Not very helpful. Recommends replacing the cable that's why I asked if anyone had the instructions.

Mine became stretched again (out of warranty). However, I can pull the latch up just a bit more by forcing it beyond where the plastic trim blocks it and it works fine.

There's gotta be a way to shorten your cable. Maybe add a small spacer on it between the crimped on ball and the latch lever to snug it up?
I haven't looked at mine to see how to do it, but that would be my first idea.
Second idea would be a similar fix to the inside pull handle.
Or maybe a threaded adjuster like on a bicycle brake cable?
Again, just ideas, haven't looked to see if possible.

I replaced the hood switch on my LR2. I recall it being pretty easy, don't think I had to remove any major body panels Might have been a tight fit but doable. Maybe look for youtube videos. IIRC you have to remove the latch, mark it's position with a sharpie first so you can put it back without trial-and-error adjustments.

You could also unplug and jumper (short) the connector, which will provide a permanent "hood closed" signal to the alarm. Downside there is that if you accidentally don't latch the hood, it could fly open on the road. I replaced the switch because leaving the hood unlatched is something my wife might do.
