Question 2020 Discovery Hood Latch Release Failure

Does anyone have experience with this or suggestions?
My hood latch release appears to work on the driver (left) side, but not the right (passenger side) and I'm unable to open the hood. Did anyone find an answer to this riddle from a dealer of other triage? Thanks. Seattle

I don't have a fix but mine does the same sometimes. I pull harder and it works. I need to get on with replacing the release cable.

I was told that the cables stretch and can cause one side to release easier than the other.

mine is this way currently. To open it I pull the latch higher than usual by pulling up to the OEM stopping point, then continuing past it by pulling inward and up.

Try having someone push down on the hood on both sides above the latches while you pull the release lever.

Yes. That works for mine

Unfortunately I don't think it's the cables. I had mine adjusted and then replaced on warranty. But it still has an issue. Now they say the latch mechanism is rusted and needs to be replaced. But I'm a long way out of warranty and had this issue since new so I'm skeptical and decided not to spend the $$ to test that theory..
I just have someone push the hood down while I wiggle the release lever and that seems to work.

Any chance you can provide a link to the TSB or attach it in a reply to this thread?

Default Complaints.

Having the same issue here and the dealer wants to smash the grill to be able to access it which is $1k just for the part. That we’re on the hook for that they put a bulletin out about. How the F#%! does that work? Though I have done enough research to know that this problem is VERY common. If we all file a complaint with the NHTSA then there’s a chance we can all get it covered under a recall. That way it’s no longer our headache and is back on Land Rover.

My hood release lever went from "pull all the way or with someone pressing on the hood" to "there appears to be no tension anymore". I think something let loose.. perhaps in the lever itself, could something have stripped?

In any case, there appears to be no way to open the hood from the inside. Is there an alternate, yet painful way to release the hood? Like going in through the wheel well or something else?
