the refreshed D5/Defender seem to have a different running gear (vs original D5). I haven't seen confirmed/validated drain/fill locations so far.
I'd recommend reaching out to blauparts to verify the Ravenol SKUs.

According to the LR parts catalog, the current Defender and Discovery seem to have the same LR142026 TC installed. It would be interesting if someone could tell me where the filler and drain plug is on the LR142026. I think the places marked in red in the photo might be the right places. But I haven't found any confirmation yet. It is just a guess. Perhaps there are professionals here who can verify the fill and drain plugs for the LR142026 tranfer case

2020 D5 Td6 at 48K miles.
Rear locking diff, center diff/transfer case, front diff & transmission service complete. I took some pictures but @gmfain 's guide was fantastic already.
She runs buttery smooth

This is great. Do you know where I can find the info or if the specs for the 2019 are the same as the 2017 LR Discovery? Thanks!

It actually fits on a Backyard Buddy 5000, by an inch!
It actually fits on a Backyard Buddy 5000 where I stack my 2 little British cars (Loti), by an inch!

At 130k miles on my 2018 gas, I just did the transmission, transfer case and differentials following Michael Fain and others I found going down internet rabbit holes. Took me over a couple of days for the transmission due to the heat/cold cycling but next time at 200k miles, I'm sure it will be much faster! Some observations

1. For the transmission, 4.6 liters came out. 4.4 was all I could get back in

2. Didn’t know engine had to be running! the German YouTube was very helpful. He was very precise on exact amounts down to hundredth of a litre.

3. Didn't know there was a TSB on the transmission rattle that had been bugging me for a couple of years! In taking out the shield, I noticed one mounting ear was broken. Took it to the dealer to buy a replacement and was told "they all break and so they don't make that part anymore. Here is the new replacement." It is just a small side panel so you throw away the original shields. Seems to be much less substantial, but no more rattle! The Topix instructions on the replacement are a bit generic and must cover a bunch of vehicles. I had to bend the tabs on the new part and a couple of other things to make it fit. The TSB is LTB01091NAS5. I have the 14 page instruction sheet. If it is of use I'll post it.

The small on in front replaces the larger broken one they no longer make.
The small one in front replaces the larger broken one they no longer make. You can see the broken ear that "happens to all of them".

Incidentally, the new part I found on eBay for $14, but spent the $175 LR price because I didn't have time to experiment. It's like all LR prices. They want $190 to change the air filter. It's $13 on Amazon. They want $3100 for a brake job, just the pads! Have done this job myself on my 2017 in a couple of hours for less than $200 in parts!

Looks like the old part is available too in the upper left.

4. I purchased the transmission filter kit from Blauparts with Ravenol that others have recommended. The hand pump didn't fit the bottles very well so had to jury rig it and use a razor blade to separate the pump for the next bottle. And then when filling, the bottle collapsed so ended up punching a hole in the bottom while holding it to let air in while a friend did the pumping. The pump fit the LR brand bottles for the differential fine). The filling procedure happened over a couple of days, but I'll do it faster next time. Hooked in my ODB reader to get the trans temp to 100 each time. 2 person procedure. The YouTube has a good walkthrough of it.

5. The spec for the front dif says .5 liter. I filled until came out of oil fill like I've done on other cars and that was .75. Ditto the rear. Spec is .8 and it took 1.3. I called the dealer and spoke to the parts guy who asked a tech and was told that "that's what we do, just fill to the fill hole". Since diff oil is $75 or $150 (electronic Dif) per liter, this could just be a profit incentive. I went with filling to spec, not to the oil fill hole.

6. The transfer case was the easiest of all of them.

Parts for all this ran about $700. Figure I saved about $2500 from the dealer cost of having them do it all.

My buddy's 2016 L405 Si6 has a similar transmission bracket. My L462 diesel does not. Nothing over the plastic transmission pan in the diesel.

Noticed the L405 gas transfer case was different. The diesel t-case appears bigger more stout. I have read the diesel transmission is a higher torque version of the 8HP trans as well.
