Fuel Pump Belt Replacement/Dayco Belts
Hey all,
I have a 2017 HSE TDV6 with 112,000 miles. Based on the LR maintenance sheet the fuel pump belt is due for replacing (part #LR069054). Has anyone ever completed that job? Based on the videos I've seen it looks to be a difficult install with it being on the back side of the engine under the windshield cowling. Are these known to fail?
Another question in regards to belts... I am also replacing the timing belt. Has anyone used the Dayco kits? Wondering if those are reliable or if Genuine LR parts are the way to go.
Thanks in advance!

I have no experience with this job but I also have a 2017 TD6. Just curious if you checked into the cost of having a shop complete the work for you. I'll probaly need the same done to mine in the near future just curious what the going rate may be. I do have experience with Dayco belts in other applications and they're very good. I wouldn't be concerned with the quality of them but if the price was fairly close I'd use OEM parts especially considering the amount of work that will go into replacing them.
Thanks @rnmcguire for the response. I am having an independent mechanic do the timing belt (x2 idler pulleys), serpentine belt (w/ x2 pulleys, x2 pulley caps and tensioner), and water pump for $600. I was able to get all the genuine Land Rover parts for $800 which included tax and shipping from MN to KY from Land Rover Richfield. I priced everything out on multiple sites (ebay, LR Richfield, LR Lake Bluff, Land Leaping, FCP Euro, Rimmer Bros, etc.) and it came down to LR Richfield, LR Lake Bluff and Land Leaping, really came down to the overall cost of shipping as that varied from $50-170. None of my local dealers (within an hour and a half, LR Cincinnati and LR Louisville) could come in under $1,200 for everything, not including tax or shipping. For the price I made the decision to go with genuine because I felt I got a really good deal and for the overall piece of mind. Good to know on the Dayco belts! I will definitely consider those for the next round when I go to price them out. I will let you know how the swap goes. Planning to do the fuel timing belt in the near future, will let you know what my mechanic says!
