You will have to change the CCF files in order for the Matrix lights to work.

I got the matrix leds from rd customs, which come with the harness but require me to run a wire for the DRLs. Happy to share the results.

There's a fuse box under the cowl on the passenger side. Didn't have to add any additional wire to the existing one off my harness.

I tapped #36. Was difficult to get the fuse tap to go down in there, but got it eventually.

Default Update

I installed the lights last night, forgot to check the part number ... I will do some cable clean up and try to get it.
Fit and look nice, pictures to come. However I can't get them to work right. They will only turn on after I use the blinkers and then they work as high and low beam standard.
They also do not seem to level or the DTRL are not on.
I am playing around with the IID Tool but can't get them work yet. I updated the type of Headlight PIXEL LED with IHB and tried different DTRL options.
Trying to find the right combo.

Thanks for sharing the install pictures, mine came with a fuse in the positive cable and I attached it under battery extension in in the engine bay and black to the chassis.

Wondering if the black wire - needs a switch.

Default Need some help

So paying extra for RDcustom lights I can’t recommend for a plug and play solution and their support is pretty bad and clueless.

I got the DRL to turn on by wiring the black wire to an ignition only fuse in the engine bay fuse box. The issue now is that the driver side DRL will not turn off even when the car is off. The passenger one goes off after a few seconds of the car turning off but the driver side stays on. It will only go off if I cut the power to the headlights themselves (new fused red wire connected to the positive battery post)

Otherwise it all works as expected when the car is running.

Default RDCustom stay away

RDCustom unfortunately turned out to be pretty awful. Their customer support is demeaning and lying. They try to blame me for breaking the light.

The light comes straight from China. No instructions and no support. After asking for instructions since it’s not plug and play they said it’s not needed and the extra cables are for additional functionality.

Non of the OEM functionality works. The light only turns on after the blinkers are used, otherwise they are off in all settings day and night. The DRLs are rigged through some extra module that keeps them on at all times. Also the blinkers are hyper flashing indicating a fault.

They tried to sell me a replacement module and won’t accept returns.

Stay away you will get a better product going direct to Chinese suppliers.

I had emailed them to get information about their kit. Specifically part numbers to see if I could use them as a matrix beam upgrade for my normal LED lights. Their answer was a little lacking. Basically all they had to say is their units will work as matrix and pixel headlights *if* your truck already had that functionality and didn't provide any OEM part numbers. I will be staying away from them.

Follow up RDcustoms are completely clueless what they are shipping no accountability or instructions their vagueness speaks for itself.

Turns out the optional “extra” wire is a signal to activate the DRLs since they are not using the lin bus input from the original headlights. The acc wire only sends a one time signal to turn them on. As the power dies to the module it never gets a second signal to turn off the DRLs with an ignition switched acc.

Neither the DCM or lin bus pins are utilized in their overpriced version, the direct $1400 Chinese eBay special uses more inputs and offers more functionality.

As an electrical engineer by proxy I nerded out on the wiring, can and lin bus interfaces. Let me know if you guys have any questions.
