Default HDMI playback no sound only video on rear screens

Hi, this is my first time on the forum so i apologise in advance if i am posting in the incorrect area.
i have recently purchased a landrover discovery 5 HSE luxury and cannot hear sound on the video.
i can see video but no sound is transmitted.
I am using a Samsung S10 phone connected via USB-C to hdmi.
The same connection works correctly when played through domestic TV.
Has anyone else had this issue.

Interesting to learn if/how this works; I recently ordered my Disco 5 with the Rear Entertainment System. Sounds better than streaming a Firestick tethered to my cell phone via a mobile hotspot but I'm not sure you can do it the way you are asking. .

Just to clarify, when you use the connection from the phone to a regular (not in the car) TV it works correctly?

If so what I found with our rear entertainment system is that you have to use the remote control to turn on the sound for the rear seats. In the attached picture of the remote you will see a car with a speaker on the lower left button. This turns on the sound for the rear seats. So far this is the only way I have figured out how to turn on the speakers. I couldnt find anywhere in the infotainment system to do it. I hope I'm making sense. We just got our Disco about 6 weeks ago so I'm still figuring some things out. Let me know if this does not work.

That button sends the rear device sound to the in car speakers. If you use the wireless headphones you can have the rear sound from headphones and select a different source for the car speakers

Instead of using that button on the remote you can also do it from the touch screen at the front. Go to audio source (where you choose radio, cd etc) and select the dvd / rear source. That should bring it through the speakers too

Rear entertainment is great once it's running and fine if kids are old enough to use the remote. But controlling it from the touch screen at front is very clunky...
