Default Minor annoying gremlins

2017 HSE with 72k miles. Car’s perfect and running awesome, but I am experiencing a couple minor glitches that drive my OCD self crazy and curious if anyone has anything similar:

- Info button (the one on turn signal stalk) stopped working. It’s supposed to cycle the info screen through range, trip distance, fuel consumption, trip average speed and driving behavior, but a couple days ago nothing would happen when pressing it. Next day it was working normally and then again after about 30 mins of driving it stopped working and then by itself the info in the screen would cycle (w/o me touching the button), then info disappeared never to be seen again. Feel like a software glitch so thinking of disconnecting the battery and see what happens.
- One of the two Auto buttons for the climate control panel on the center cluster went dark (i.e. the button won’t illuminate when cluster lights are on). Assume it is some stupid LED in a circuit board that went bad and my guess is the whole control panel would need to be changed ($1k part) or would need to take it apart and change the LED (which sounds like a lot of work).

As I said, just annoying glitches for my OCD self and probably one of the reasons why these days in which cars are full of electronics the advise I get from lots of folks is to not keep them longer than 5 years.

While I am not specifically familiar with the 2017, my 2020 Disco V has experienced several intermittent gremlins that self-correct. There is a good chance this is related to the known issue with the faulty ground connection. There are a number of posts addressing this, which i can't access at the moment. But it's a fairly easy fix involving replacing a ground plate bolt.

Interesting. Did not know about the ground issue, but doing some research seems to impact only 2019-2020 models. Still, since I’ll be disconnecting the battery will check the ground post.

More erratic behavior from the info display today, which leads me to think it’s either software, but more likely a faulty stalk.

Thanks!

Sounds like your Land Rover is working exactly like a Land Rover does.

While these are great, do everything vehicles, you have to count on some "oddities" to just pop up. My D5's windshield just came unsealed right at the top center, right when we had some rain come through. No problems with it for the last 5 years, it just figured "now's the time". I also get the trailer assist back up screen (option I don't have) pop up every now and then.

Still not getting rid of it....

Actually, mine has a rock chip and crack which falls under my glass rider on my insurance, so it's getting replaced. I got lucky.

It is indeed: I did not do anything yet (not even disconnecting the battery) and the car was not used and parked in the garage for last couple weeks. Today I took it out and the Auto button light is back to normal. The info button is still glitching.
