Maybe it doesn’t work for your model but mine uses the procedure listed in the stickie at top of this forum.

Nope, it doesn't work on 17 TDV6. I've been on the phone with JLR customer service USA and I even called CS in the UK. There is a bug in the system that won't allow owner to be able to reset it. They have no plan to fix it.

Their solution is to drive 100 miles, in my case, to nearest dealer. They will reset it at no charge.

I would prefer to get a scanner that will reset it. So far the scanners that will reset it are over $600 bucks.

I just hate to drop that kind of money to reset oil life.

It's strange that the procedure works for my 2017 Si6 and doesn't for the TD6.
Maybe it's worth trying it a few different ways.

Trust me I've tried every combination So many I had to list the steps, so I wouldn't repeat them.. I even altered time/seconds of procedures.

plus I call JLR CS more than 10 times, hoping to get a proper answer. I also called 5 different JLR service departments. Not to mention I called Solihul too.

All of them tell me with the 17 diesel has a software bug. They are not going to fix it.

@ArmyRover and I met up once, and his scanner reset it. It is pricey though. ( we are normally 350 miles apart, can't meet up every 8K miles )

ArmyRover had the LAUNCH X431 Diagun V https://www.launchx431.net/launch-x431-diagun-v.html

My mechanic uses JLR's software, and he can reset it of course, but he is 75 miles away also....LOL

So the search for a affordable scanner continues.

I have the icarsoft LRII which resets service indicator. The Jag/LR version of the unit. It wasn't much over $100. I think they may have a newer version for LR now as I've had mine for 5+ years.

The Launch CRP 909 does reset it and is a little cheaper than Army's Daigun, but still pricey for just an oil reset. And yes my 2017 Td6 does not reset either. Also, it is my first and last Rover, simply just not impressed nor worth the money and the quality/luxury quotient is not there compared to BMW/AUDI etc....

Mine is the V6 gas supercharged. That one is the newer version of mine (I have the V2). Functionally the same and it should absolutely do it. See user manual. So if it's not working it suggests maybe something wrong with the software on your car. Perhaps explains why the manual reset isn't working on yours either...
