I'd be surprised if they make a major change in 2024 model year. It's still pretty 'new'. I expect they will hold off for bigger electric shifts.
If I am buying a 23' I hope the 24' isn't a major change lol. Though it would be 7 years into this model type, so its possible. LR3, LR4 and Disco 2 were all 6 year model runs.

Anyone had any build dates confirmed recently? I’m still getting radio silence from dealer and LR UK.

Heard back from our sales rep today, as we put in a build for a 23' a few weeks back. As I mentioned earlier in this thread they have the build out listed as having the Analogue Dials with Central TFT Display for the drivers speedometer display. Sounds like it a little tiny center digital display with old school analog speedometer.

Mentioned to him in a few e-mails we weren't okay with accepting a delivery with 2010 tech in it. Basically replied can't guarantee it, they're hopeful when the build dates arrives the microchips will become available.

Also has a bunch of extras and added options we didn't select. Said the factory added those to the build and they are looking for a workaround. Sure seems like they are ordering it with options they would want if I do not accept delivery. As far as I am concerned, what I ordered is what I will pay for. If it arrives and its 4k more than the options I selected, they can keep it.

thanks for the update! personally, I prefer the analog gauges. seems like there is less to go wrong compared to a large digital screen. but I didn't have an option when I submitted my Discovery build in March 2021 and it was built as a 2022 model. when I submitted my build sheet from the LR website it was (eventually) processed by my local LR dealership once a slot was allocated, and then a draft build was sent to me for review. i added some features and then sent it back to the dealership for inputting. Once I was happy with the build, I had to sign every page and send it back. that was it. in your case, the factory adding those options on their own sounds awfully strange. if you are not happy with the build, then the dealer can order the LR itself and you can check out when it comes in. no point committing to the build and putting the $1,000 deposit down when undesired options are being added. also may not be a bad idea to contact another LR dealership and see if your order will be taken and submitted as you want.

Yea the whole process is odd. The sales person takes days to answer e-mails, we've gone back and forth on builds a few times and I've requested 3 times for the extras to be removed as well as clarification on the features. I am more or less being dodged every time on a question on if a feature will be included until finally getting 1 answer today on the driver display. Yes I get that there are pandemic shortages, but we're not exactly ordering a Chevy here.

Sales person pitched it to us that this is taking up one of the dealerships order slots for a 23 floor model. Who knows how accurate that is.

Funny thing is, they have $1000 from me and not one signature or verbal approval on the build they've been sending.

I went through a similar process regarding salesperson contact. after i submitted the initial build sheet, my salesperson just about went radio silent. emails and voicemails took forever to respond, if at all. so i reached out to another LR dealer to place the order and he told me that LR was in the middle of retooling the machines for the 2022 models, wasn't currently accepting any new orders, and gave me an appropriate date when hopefully the build slot window should open. i wish my local dealer was this forthcoming with basic information!! magically a few days after that approximate build date window, my local dealer became very responsive and the build process re-started.... you may want to reach out to another dealer for clarification....

Saw over on a D90 thread regarding the dash shortage, copy and pasted my post below.

"Yea I just did some digging for the first time in a few days on the LR website and they FINALLY updated their website with 23' options. They had updated the prices back on 11/1. They now give you an option on Disco 5 R-Dynamic for Analog or Digital. Digital costs nothing extra, so not sure what that is all about.

Snapped a screen shot of both for comparison, the Analog screen isn't terrible but I'd still highly prefer the digital for the price of the car. If my $40,000 Grand Cherokee can have a full digital than the $75,000 Land Rover should as well."

I contacted my trusted dealer to inquire about ordering a new Discovery. Here's what they had to say: since the D5 is now built at Nitra, where they also build the Defender, the Defender is the priority so all the 2022 builds our dealer had in their pipeline had their dates removed and won't be built. Next round of allocation for builds in 2023 will come in next month and they can for sure make one of those available for us. Unclear as to feature availability since again this would be built in 2023, so, many things can happen.

On a related note, I have been toying around with the configurator and there is one thing I have not been able to do: I am configuring an R Dynamics with the Luxtec seats and there are two options for front seats: 14 way electric heated with captain's armrest and 18 way electric heated with captain's armrest and memory seat (as I read this the 14 way do not have memory seat, which is key for me), so I added the 18 way ones. Then, when I go to the rear seats I want those to be heated too, but picking the heated option automatically removes the 18 way front and takes me back to 14 way with no memory (none of this makes any sense whatsoever). First, I struggle to understand how a $70k+ car does not come with seat memory standard, second is it possible that I have to chose between having heated rear seats or having driver seat memory?

Well your not the only one struggling with that question. Best guess, that is how they get you to build the ticket price.
