Update: Have replaced 1 sensor myself, code still showed up. Took it into a local mechanic who specializes in European makes, familiar with LR's, replaced the sensor 2 more times with the CEL still showing. Vehicle does not overheat, no temperature fluctuation, drives great. They say it could be tied to a software update or a bad computer, they are unable to perform that work as Land Rover has apparently locked them out from being able to do anything computer/software related to drive business to dealerships as they are losing a lot of money. First I've read of a computer going bad in one of these vehicles. 105,000 miles on my truck. Taking it to another shop next week for further diagnostics and to check in on the computer claim. Anyone heard anything about computers going bad? Any ideas on how expensive that could be?

Since the code cleared, I would check the battery.
Weak or failing battery will cause all kind of weird stuff.
This! I had a weak battery causing all sorts of issues and have the same exact vehicle

This has been fixed. There is a hidden second sensor down near the radiator. If you get this code I would recommend replacing both sensors as it is an inexpensive repair and pretty simple. For the sensor located near the radiator you will be required to drain and refill the coolant system, but the other sensor that is located near the top of the engine can be easily swapped without needing to drain anything from the system. Have put about 2,000 miles on my vehicle since replacing this part and everything checks out. Thanks for everyones help!

Same issue here. They replaced thermostat and water pump last week. All good so far.

Happy to help! Not sure if I mentioned above, but this sensor failure seems to be super rare based on my conversations with Louisville LR Parts Specialist.
