Default Periodic Coolant Leak

I searched the threads, but couldn't find anything on point here.

Wife's '20 Disco HSE has developed a periodic coolant leak when the car runs for longer than 15-20 minutes, occurs on the driver's side, so I'm assuming it's not the water pump. Small amounts, has happened 3-4x. No "low coolant" warnings, but it just started in the last few weeks (we live in Central Florida) when the heat has been getting jacked. I'm thinking expansion tank, or possibly a leaking hose... but wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this?

Is it hitting the ground on the drivers side or can you see a visible leak from that area? Anything leaking above can show itself elsewhere under the car if that’s the case. How many miles? Crossover pipes are a common culprit on the SCV6 at 60k + miles

Nope, can't see a leak... just the coolant hitting the ground just in front of the wheel, driver's side. Currently at about 54K miles, so that could be the case. We have a Triton extended warranty and have it booked into the stealership this Friday. Any idea of what it typically costs for the crossover pipe correction?

Thanks for the feedback!

You can search a bit but I believe $1500-2k? If it is the crossover pipe, make sure you get the updated aluminum pipes!

Yikes! Makes me glad to have the extended warranty. If that's what it is, I'll definitely ask for the aluminum replacements. Will likely pay them to replace the rear pipe as well while they are in there. Thanks again for the feedback!!

At a dealer it will be way more than $2K, Independent shop probably $3K to replace all the plastic parts prone to leakage: 2 cross over pipes, another behind those 2, and you might as well replace the plastic thermostat housing and connector. And if you;ve got it apart, probably time to replace the 2 serpentine belts.

That aside, you could check your expansion tank cap to see if it's holding the 29 psi rating. Or just try replacing it.
