As I understand your response, the problem you had was a hardware issue. The actual head unit of the infotainment system.

Your problem was not caused by a software issue.
Is that correct?

TBD - the explanation given by the SM sounds like that, but I would include none of this started until the major software update.

Now, we did have some prior issues with things like the passenger seat heating/cooling not working but the cause of that was never explained to me. But after the major OS update that included wireless CarPlay was when the system started going haywire.

Interpret that as you wish.
